The Thunder boys and Lightning girls youth travel team concluded their regular season play in the MetroWest League last week.

The locals came away with three victories combined.

The 7th grade Lightning team finished the season at 11-1.

8th Grade Girls

Lightning 51

Bridgewater 39

Taunton wrapped up its regular season with a hard-fought win over Bridgewater.

The outside shooting of Alexi Haywood (18 points) led the Lightning in scoring.

Libby Gazaille (11 points) and Mia Porter (nine points) also hit the score sheet.


7th Grade Boys Orange

Milton 55

Thunder 38

Taunton finished the season with a 7-5 record after a loss to Milton.

Jayden Souza led the Thunder with a team-high 12 points and nine rebounds.

Dray Thielker added 10 points and five assists while Mason Andrews chipped in with seven points. Jacob Nadeau and Noah Faidell each finished with five and four points, respectively.


7th Grade Girls

Taunton 37

Easton 18

The Lightning finished the regular season 11-1 with the win over Easton.

Chelsea Bousquet led Taunton in scoring with 18 points. Natalie Kerstein had 12 points and Taryn Campbell finished with five.

Victoria Arruda rounded out the scoring with two points. Jaylynn Andrews, Abby Doherty, Thalia Cooper, Grace Bennett, Julia Cohen and Danica Corpus each played great defense.


6th Grade Boys

Dartmouth 52

Taunton 34

The Thunder were defeated by Dartmouth.

Travis MacEachern led Taunton with 10 points. Aiden Twidd and Cori Bland each chipped in with five points while Diondre Silva added four points.

Corbin Melo and Dylan Keenan played well, defensively.


6th Grade Girls

Taunton 43

Needham 37

The Lightning girls finished 10-2 in the regular season after beating Needham.

Taryn Campbell led Taunton in scoring with 27 points. Other scorers include Danica Corpus (eight), Rhiley Diachenko (four), Grace Bennett (three) and Julia Cohen (one).

Ava Silvia, Sophia Forrester, MK Harden, Ellie Harden, Brynn Murphy, Brittany Castro, Ella McFarland and Ella Bennett all played well in the win.


5th Grade Boys

Swansea 51

Taunton 36

The Thunder lost to a good Swansea team to end the season with a 6-6 record.

Taunton was led by Derrin Texeira, who finished with 19 points. Bryce Bousquet and Camden Babin each chipped in with six points.

Daniel Craig and Riley O'Neill combined for three points.
