The best boys and girls hockey players from last week's action of the winter sports season.

Girls

Maddie Mrva, Fr., Shrewsbury: This freshman tallied two points – including the game-winning goal in the second period – in the Shrewsbury co-op’s playoff victory over Lincoln-Sudbury.

Jacqui Poulack, Sr., Natick: This senior forward scored three goals for a hat trick in a 13-0 rout of Leominster in the preliminary round of the Division 2 playoffs.

Boys

Colin Hedvig, Sr., Franklin: This forward scored the game-winning goal over Natick in the Div. 1 South quarterfinals after Hedvig scored twice in a first round win over Canton.

Nick Patterson, Sr., Milford: This senior’s overtime goal lifted Hopedale-Millis to a 3-2 victory over Oakmont in a Division 3A Central quarterfinal before Patterson scored in the co-op’s sectional semifinal win over Grafton-BVT.

Will Trischitta, Sr., Framingham: This senior forward scored his second goal with two minutes remaining in overtime to lift the Flyers over Xaverian in a Super 8 tournament elimination game. He also scored Framingham’s lone goal in a loss to Arlington a few days earlier.

Angelo Venuto, Sr., Lincoln-Sudbury: This senior forward scored twice in the final five minutes of regulation before the Warriors won, 6-5, over Gloucester in a Division 2 North quarterfinal.
