In a 34-14 victory at Silver Lake, Murphy had four touchdowns and rushed for 245 yards Saturday afternoon.

With Jason Murphy leading the way, the Whitman-Hanson Regional High football team broke into the win column Saturday afternoon.

Murphy rushed for four touchdowns and gained 245 yards on 13 carries as the Panthers improved to 1-3 with a 34-14 road victory over Silver Lake.

Murphy also completed 6 of 11 passes for 76 yards, intercepted a pass and made sixth tackles. The Panthers had 27 points in the second half.

Whitman-Hanson had 378 yards of total offense with CJ Guiliani gaining 53 yards on 12 carries while scoring a touchdown. The defense was led by Guiliani with two sacks and Zach Boisjolie.

West Bridgewater 41, Diman 0: The Wildcats stayed unbeaten with Matt Lavoie rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another.

Devin Georgantas also ran for a pair of TDs an Tyler Stone had a 48-yard TD catch. Ali Chreim returned a fumble for a score.

West Bridgewater (3-0) jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter on TD runs of 17 and 9 yards by Lavoie and a 1-yard run by Georgantas.

Attleboro 28, Oliver Ames 0: The Tigers fell behind, 14-0, in the first quarter in the Hockomock League opener. OA is 1-2 overall.

In football games that were played on Friday:

Abington 34, Norwell 14: Gabe Spry scored on a pair of short runs a minute apart in the fourth quarter to lift the Green Wave (1-2) to their first win.

Abington, which had trailed, 14-6, in the third quarter, outscored the Clippers, 28-0, the rest of the way

Ed Reilly scored with 2:46 left in the third quarter to get Abington within 14-12 with Spry putting the Green Wave up on a fourth-down run and Will Klein added the two-point conversion for a 20-14 lead.

Spry followed with a touchdown and Drew Donovan returned an interception for a score with 4:03 left.

Rockland 27, East Bridgewater 13: The Bulldogs remained undefeated as quarterback Dante Vasquez ran for three scores.

Cardinal Spellman 35, St. Mary’s (Lynn) 14: Coach Ron St. George earned his 270th career victory as Spellman (3-0) won in Holbrook. Jovan Marrero, Brian Morrill (interception return) and Mike Finneran scored first-half touchdowns while Rocky Grillone had a pair of TD runs in the second half.

Middleboro 54, Randolph 30: Isaiah Cobbs had four touchdowns as the Sachems improved to 2-1.

Canton 10, Stoughton 0: In the 100th meeting between the two rivals, the Black Knights (2-1) were limited to four first downs and less than 100 yards of total offense by the Bulldogs (3-1). Quarterback Johnny Hagan scored on a 1-yard run at the end of the first half and Owen Lehane kicked a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Hull 12, Southeastern 7: Noah Lanner scored both TDs as the Pirates won their debut on their turf field.

Oliver Ames 2, Bridgewater-Raynham 2: On Saturday, Lauren Sellmayer and Camryn O’Connor scored for the Tigers while Erin Holmberg had a pair of assists.

Weymouth 2, Whitman-Hanson 1: Olivia Borgen, assisted by Anika Floeck, scored for the Panthers, who were defeated on a goal with 15 seconds left.
