MANSFIELD — The Taunton High football team looked to get off to a strong start on Friday night against Hockomock League opponent Mansfield.

The Hornets had other ideas.

Mansfield scored 31 unanswered points and rolled past the Tigers, 31-6, at Mansfield High School.

Taunton (1-2) scored its lone touchdown of the contest with 19 second left in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers host Attleboro next Friday.

The Warriors (2-1) dropped their first game of the season to non-league opponent Mashpee.

Jackson Murray scored the lone touchdown for C-C. Tommy Joyce added a two-point conversion.

Old Rochester 1

The Falcons (5-3-1) tied their game with league opponent Old Rochester.

Kaylee Goss scored the equalizer for D-R late in the second half on an assist from Cassie Lunghi. Emily Trembley had six saves in net.

The Falcons host Case on Monday.

 

Somerset Berkley 13

Wareham 0

The Raiders (9-0) blanked league opponent Wareham.

Riley Durette, Cami Crook, Lucas Crook, Reaghan Cadorette and Laney Martin each scored two goals in the victory for SB. Alex Millar and Lauren Rothwell each had a goal and had two assists. Ellie Cabral also scored a goal. Katelyn Perry and Madison Ferrara combined for the shutout in net.

The Craftsmen (5-2) took three of four sets — 25-20, 25-14, 19-25 and 25-19 — against Westport.

Emily Boss played great defense and had nine digs in the win for B-P. Jaylene Deslauriers had seven digs, three aces and went 18-for-21 serving. Jasmine Iraola was big at the net with 2 kill shots and four blocks.

The Lancers (3-6) swept all three sets — 25-20, 25-18 and 25-18 — against league opponent Millis.

Destiny McGrath led Norton with eight aces and eight digs. Caroline Daly finished with seven assists while Lexi Fleming chipped in with six kill shots.
