Podiatry Services

A podiatrist will come once a month to the COA conference room (next to the office) to provide nail-clipping services. He books in 15-minute increments and charges $45. There must be at least four appointments for him to come. He is scheduled to come on March 18 from 9 a.m.-noon.

SHINE

Trained SHINE volunteers offer free, confidential counseling on all aspects of health insurance to anyone on Medicare. Our SHINE counselor, Sonja Hicks, is available on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Please call the office to make an appointment. This service is available year-round.

Bring Out Your Inner Artist

A watercolor class every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon in Room 204B, Sherborn Town Hall.

Cost is $10 per class.

Winter/Spring Lifetime Learning

Registration is under way for the latest session of Lifetime Learning.

Courses include “The Politics of a Divided America” (six sessions starting March 26 in Town Hall in Room 204A, cost is $60); “Insights into Chinese History (four sessions starting April 23 in Town Hall in Room 204A, cost is $40); and “American Musical Theater History of the 1960 and 70s” (two sessions starting May 1 at Pilgrim Church, cost is $25 single, $40 couple).

Help for the Caregiver – You are not alone

First and Third Tuesday of every month

10:30 a.m.-noon, Unitarian Universalist Church

Do you find yourself caring for a spouse, son, daughter, parent, friend? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with all that is involved caring for someone? You don’t want to ask for help? You are not getting enough sleep? 44 million people in the US and Canada are caregivers. You are not alone.

Come to this bi-weekly caregiver support group to share your problems, reduce isolation and alleviate frustration. Talk to others who are going through similar experiences. This group is led by Susan Wells an experienced facilitator.

You may also bring your loved one with you who will be cared for by a registered nurse during the meeting.

This program is funded by a grant through BayPath Elder Services under the Older Americans Act. We welcome new members.

Senior Café

Please preregister by calling the COA office the Monday before at 508-651-7858 so there is enough food for all.

Thursdays at noon, Pilgrim Church, 25 South Main St.

Each week there is a different speaker, entertainment or activity. The Senior Café is open to adults 60 and over. Cost: $3.

The remaining Senior Cafes for March have been canceled as a precaution against the coronavirus.
