A second Wellesley event has been cancelled because a case of coronavirus has been diagnosed in town.
Sustainable Wellesley has canceled its Sunday candidate information event. "Instead of a live session, however, many of the candidates have thoughtfully answered questions about how they would further the cause of sustainability in their role, according to the group's announcement. The town election is March 17.
The Plunge for Elodie, an annual fundraiser that was scheduled for Morses Pond on Saturday morning, was cancelled on Friday, after the schools and Wellesley Health Department sent out an alert that a parent with children at Upham and the Wellesley Middle School had been diagnosed with the virus. The two schools were closed early for cleaning.
A private version of the Plunge in Wellesley and four satellite versions of the Plunge in the U.S. and England continued.
