A potent ocean storm will pass southeast of Nantucket tonight and Saturday morning, bringing strong to damaging winds to Cape Cod and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.  Accumulating snowfall is anticipated across Cape Cod and the Islands. Minor coastal flooding expected for this area as well.

Less than one inch of snow is expected in Provincetown, but maximum wind gusts could reach 55-60 miles per hour.

A winter weather advisory and high wind warning for Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties Friday evening into Saturday morning is expected. A coastal flood advisory is expected for Barnstable, Dukes, Nantucket and eastern Plymouth counties Saturday morning. Storm and gale Warnings are expected to be in effect for the ocean waters Friday evening into Saturday.

Northeast winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts to 50 to 65 miles per hour are expected.

Snowfall totals of two to four inches are predicted across Cape Cod, and three to six inches across Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket with the highest amounts expected across Nantucket.
