Senior Van Trip to Restaurants, Malls, RMV: The Council on Aging schedules COA Van trips to various restaurants and shops. The COA will provide transportation for eight senior center members per trip, a sign-up sheet and schedule of dates/locations is available at the reception desk.

Senior Center Members-Free Pool Workout Twice Weekly: Senior Center members can participate in the Aquafit exercise at the Cape Ann YMCA weekly, on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. and on Fridays at 12:15 p.m. (AquaAdventure). Membership at the center is free, call 978-281-9765 for further information.

Department of Transitional Assistance Kiosks at Rose Baker: DTA clients can check their benefit levels, complete SNAP applications, receive notices, and find general government information already available on the internet though the kiosk in the lobby.

Fall Risk Screening at Senior Center: Offered the fourth Thursday monthly from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Gordon Center for Balance, Mobility and Wellness will provide Fall Risk screenings/results. Sign up at the reception desk or call 978-281-9765.

Volunteer Drivers Needed: Give rides to seniors to their doctor’s appointments. Mileage can be reimbursed, contact Rose Baker Senior Center 978-281-9765, ext. 17.

Sewing Adjustments/Repairs at Senior Center: Senior Center members needing small sewing adjustments and repairs can meet with the Handy Sewing Lady at the senior center between 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesdays only.

Dancing Mondays with Jazz Band at Senior Center: The Ole Salty Jazz Band offers dancing and music the first three Mondays, beginning at 11 p.m., at the senior center, open to all.

AARP Tax Help: 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays through April 14. AARP volunteers will prepare taxes for seniors for free. Seniors are taken in the order that they arrive. Attendees can pick up an intake sheet and a list of items needed for taxes at the senior center.

Monday Bus Trips: CATA provides service to shopping outside of Cape Ann for seniors and disabled customers. They will pick up in front of the Senior Center on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. The bus will start the return trip at 1 p.m. Cost is $5 roundtrip, call 978-283-7916.

Open Door Mobile Market: The first Thursday of each month, the Open Door and SeniorCare offers the Senior Mobile Market. This 60+ program offers fresh fruits and vegetables, plus an assortment of canned goods from 10 to 11 a.m. Applications are available at the Senior Center or at the Mobile Market.

Free Attorney Advice: Troy Sullivan, first Thursday of each month, 15 minute consults, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Call for an appointment, 978-546-2573.

North Shore VNA Nurse: second Thursday of each month, 9:30-11:30 a.m.. No appointment necessary.

Meals in Dining Room: 11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday. All seniors are welcome to attend Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance for daily meals, 48 hours in advance for special lunches. Call 978-546-5027 to make a reservation.

Boston Flower and Garden Show: March 11. This years theme is Garden Party: Celebrating Friends and Family. They will be showcasing creative outdoor living environments and interior plantscapes. $25 includes admission and transportation, must be paid when registering. This is sponsored in part by the Friends of Rockport COA.
