MILFORD – A local man is facing charges that he fled from a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening after a road rage incident.
Police arrested Delmar L. DeSouza, 41, on Cedar Street after the 5:54 p.m. crash near 97 Main St., according to the Milford Police Department public log.
According to the log, a witness reported a three-car crash. The witness told police the incident began as a road rage incident and that DeSouza, driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck, fled the scene after the crash. The witness followed the Ram, leading police to the truck.
According to the log, the other vehicles involved in the crash were a Chevrolet work van owned by a Marlborough company and driven by a Shrewsbury man and a Ford F-150 pickup truck owned and driven by a Worcester man. One of the other drivers complained of neck pain and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
All three vehicles were towed.
Police arrested DeSouza, of 72 Dilla St., and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon; two counts of malicious damage to a vehicle; disorderly conduct; disturbing the peace; leaving the scene of an accident; driving to endanger; and driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense).
Police also cited him for speeding, a marked-lanes violation and failing to yield.
At DeSouza’s arraignment Thursday in Milford District Court, he was released without bail. He is due back in court on April 9 for a pretrial conference.
