Democrats accounted for 90% of the total 12,654 ballots cast in Needham on Super Tuesday and Joe Biden secured 35% of their vote.

Biden got 4,115 votes in the town's ten precincts -  about 400 more than the combined total registered by Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, and Bernie Sanders, D-VT. Voter turnout for the presidential primary in Needham hit 50.26% of eligible voters.

Statewide, Biden secured 34% of the vote ahead of Sanders who drew strong support from voters in Boston. In her home-state,  Warren locked down  17% of the vote. Republican voters in Massachusetts overwhelmingly signaled support for President Donald Trump. Only 9.3% of the republican ballots cast Super Tuesday in Massachusetts went to one of the state’s former governors - Bill Weld.

In Needham, 70% of the republican voters who cast a ballot in the 2020 primary checked the box for President Donald Trump - Weld got 171 votes. In the last presidential primary, three times as many republicans filled out ballots compared to this year. Still, the total number of 2020 presidential primary voters in town rose by 10%.
