Lisa Cohen will teach three ukulele skills workshops at the Dover Town Library this fall.

The workshops are scheduled for Thursdays, 1-2 p.m., on Oct. 17, Nov. 14 and Dec. 5, and are sponsored by the Friends of the Dover Council on Aging.

On Oct. 17, Cohen will be teaching some basic strumming techniques such as single and double rhythm, rock rhythm, syncopated rhythm, and freestyle.

On Nov. 14, she will teach various fingerpick techniques.

On Dec. 5, the workshop will focus on learning a song with multiple parts, combining strum and fingerpick techniques.

All ukulele players, from beginning to advanced levels, are welcome.

Cohen is the co-founder of the Unlikely Strummers in Plainville, and currently teaches ukulele programs at the Foxboro Senior Center and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin. She was one of the original members of the Zukes Ukulele Orchestra, has performed with the Wellington Ukulele Orchestra and the Massapoag Uke Strummers in Sharon, and participated at the Featherstone Uke Jam on Martha’s Vineyard.
