Levitate, in partnership with SlackTide Coffee Roasters and the North and South Rivers Watershed Association, is inviting the community to come together give back and keep Marshfield’s beaches clean.

The organizations are holding a beach cleanup day on Saturday, Sept. 28 starting at 9 a.m. at the Rexhame Beach parking lot. Trashbags and gloves will be provided, along with complimentary coffee and snacks from SlackTide to help “energize the cleanup crew.”

Fletcher Souba, co-owner and co-founder of the coffee roasters, said he’s excited to help give back to the Marshfield community, particularly with an event that’s in line with his company’s mission.

“On global scale, when you think about coffee and go down the supply chain to these farmers in remote areas, they feel the impacts of climate change very drastically,” Souba said. “On a more local level, we’re trying to do as much as we can to help keep our local environment clean.”

Satellite cleanups are planned for Burke’s Beach, Brant Rock and the Marshfield Skatepark, spreading the valuable work throughout town. All should meet at Rexhame for supplies – and coffee.

“Everyone loves going to the beach, we love going to the beach,” Souba said. “Having a clean beach is much more enjoyable.”
