Scituate Board of Health announces flu clinics
The Scituate Board of Health announced it will host two flu clinics this year.
The Town urges residents to attend one of these clinics rather than turning to other sources, as the Town will receive the reimbursements. This will allow the Board of Health to purchase more vaccine next year.
The flu clinics will be held as follows:
4-7 p.m. Oct. 7 at Scituate Town Hall, 600 Chief Justice Cushing Highway
10-11 a.m. and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at St. Mary’s Parish Center, 2 Edward Foster Road
Any Scituate resident 18 or older may attend these clinics. Remember to bring all insurance cards and wear a short-sleeved shirt if possible. Residents who currently have United Health Care Insurance need to contact the Scituate Board of Health at 781-545-8725 for additional information.
NSRWA to host Harvest Moon Feast
North and South Rivers Watershed Association will host the 12th annual Harvest Moon Feast from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at Mill Wharf Restaurant, 23 Mill Wharf Plaza, Scituate.
Attendees can spend an evening sampling dishes from the South Shore’s finest restaurants, listening to jazz and enjoying complimentary wine and beer tastings. There will also be a cash bar.
Proceeds from this event directly support the continuation of environmental education programs. These programs provide children and adults opportunities to learn about protecting waters by engaging in hands-on environmental science. This year, more than 2,500 children attended the Water All Around You program, participated in River Adventures Camp, or joined Estuary Explorers pontoon boat ecology tours.
Cost is $70 per person in advance and $80 per person at the door. For tickets and more information, visit https://nsrwa.org/event/2019-harvest-moon-feast.
