The Cohasset Cultural Council is offering grants to organizations planning local public art events in 2020.

The funds are received by the town from an annual allocation of the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Any individual, group or organization interested in providing events or projects in the arts may apply for these grants.

Typical grants range from $100 to $1,000. Past grantees include the Rusty Skippers, The Cohasset Dramatic Club, Cohasset Recreation, the South Shore Arts Center and the Paul Pratt Library. The intent is to distribute the funds in a way that benefits a large variety of Cohasset residents.

One of this year’s grant recipients is Cohasset Open Studios. The fifth Cohasset Open Studios will be held Nov. 2-3. Cohasset Cultural Council funds helped with the printing of the map for the event. Cohasset painters, sculptors, photographers and jewelers will all be available to speak with you about their work, either in their studios or at the Cohasset Recreation Great Room next to the Paul Pratt Library.

To apply by Oct. 15: mass-culture.org/cohasset. Applications should be a request for reimbursement on costs incurred for an event held in 2020.
