The Lexington Lions Club, in conjunction with the Lexington Board of Health, conducted a Medical Waste Collection from 5 to 7 p.m. June 5 in the rear of the Cary Memorial Hall Building.

Two Lions were there to accept the medical waste items: Lion John Lucente and Lion Alan Wrigley.

A total of 63 residents took advantage of the expired drug drop-off program. A total of 10 cases were collected. In conjunction with the Lexington Board of Health, the Lions Club has spearheaded this initiative for more than nine years.

The Lexington Lions Club participates in many community efforts. As a service organization dedicated to vision- and diabetes-related initiatives, it is seeking new members. Those who would like to get involved may come to a meeting. The club normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings from September to June at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 177 Bedford St., Lexington.
