Yoga in the Gardens: 9 a.m. Fridays. Cost: $5, Trustee memebers; $10, nonmembers. This program will teach breathing techniques to calm the mind, postures to balance and stretch the body and relaxation to soothe the soul. No prior experience necessary. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes to move in and bring a large towel or yoga mat.
Instructor Molly Gring is a retired elementary school teacher who started her journey on her mat in 2011. She completed Marlena Bruno’s 200-hour Teacher Training Course at Mantra Yoga Studio in Danvers. Pre-registration encouraged. Class will move inside in case of inclement weather.
Father’s Day Bluegrass Bash: 4-7 p.m. June 16. Cost: $12, Trustee member adult; $6, member child; $20, nonmember adult; $10, nonmember child; free, dads. Bluegrass band Mamma’s Marmalade will perform, the Ipswich Ale Brewery Beer Truck and 1634 Meadery will be on site, BBQ selections from Bedlam Farms BBQ Company, fresh Mediterranean ingredients from Chez rafiki’s and sweet treats from Kim Gregory | Pure Pastry will be available for purchase. Lawn games will be set up around the grounds, guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Pre-registration strongly encouraged.
UnWined: 5-8 p.m. June 20, summer Thursdays starting June 20. Cost: $9, Trustee member adult; free, Trustee member child; $15, nonmember adult; $3, nonmember child. UnWined is a new evening picnic series indulging in all things low-key and laid-back this summer season. Guests can bring a picnic, purchase a beverage from the week’s featured winery and let the kids play. Live music begins at 5:30 p.m. The series will feature artists like Dwayne Haggins, Lauren Pratt and Matt Jackson. This series will fall on Thursday evenings: June 20 and 27, July 11 18 and 25, Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 and Sept. 5 and 19.
Teddy Bear Picnic: 1-3 p.m. June 22. Cost: $5, Trustee member child; $10, nonmember child; free, adults. Caregivers and children will meet at The Stevens-Coolidge Place for a storytime and picnic at the teddy bear garden. They will begin with crafts, bubbles and a Bear Scavenger Hunt, followed by a storytime at 2 p.m. and a picnic with light refreshments provided. Stuffed animal best friends encouraged to attend. The Andover Bear Company will also be in attendance to fulfill all teddy bear needs. Pre-registration strongly encouraged.
Open House: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 22. Cost: $5, Trustee member adult; $10, nonmember adult; free, children younger than 13. Full house tours will be offered every half hour from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis. The last house tour will begin around 1:30 p.m. These guided tours will bring visitors through two floors of architecture, artifacts from around the world and of course the story of Helen and John Coolidge as they transformed Helen’s multi-generation family farm into a summer estate. Guided tours of the gardens are also available at no additional fee and will leave from the back patio at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Throughout the day, the gardens and grounds are open for exploring. Play lawn games set up around the property. Borrow a blanket to lounge under a tree and get lost in the colorful world of our multiple manicured gardens.
Summer Picnic Concert: 4-7 p.m. June 29. Cost: $12, Trustee member adult; $20, nonmember adult; free, kids. Mother Ton will perform, with guests encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket. Guests can purchase a drink from Channel Marker Brewing, visit Empanada Dada for empanada and cuban sandwich or Kim Gregory | Pure Pastry for dessert. The eight-piece Mother Ton mixes genres and styles from big band to funk and rock and roll.
