Upcoming programs

Dress a Girl Around the World: 9:30 a.m. to noon June 14. For more information call the Senior Center.

Ping Pong — Corn Hole Premier Event: 1 p.m. June 17. Try out the new ping pong table and corn hole sets for the first time. Light refreshments and coffee will be served. Free.

Singo: A Rock and Roll Bingo: 12:45-2:15 p.m. June 25. The numbers are replaced with favorite songs. Hosted by Jim the DJ Guy and featuring patriotic songs. Sign up by June 21.

Caregiver Support Group: 10-11:30 a.m. June 27.

Podiatrist Dr. Sarah Desrosier: 9 a.m. July 1, Sept. 23 and Dec. 2. Call Dr. Desrosier’s office at 508-946-1444 to schedule an appointment.

A Virtual Reality Event with Launch: 10:30-11:30 a.m. July 9 with lunch to follow. Presented by Wingate at Norton. This platform enables the exploration of cities like Paris. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Meals on Wheels drivers needed: Reliable volunteers are needed who would like to give back by volunteering their time, delivering Meals on Wheels. The program runs Mondays through Fridays. A volunteer application and CORI need to be completed through the office. Call the Senior Center at 508-697-0929.

Prescripion Drug Drop Off at Police Department: Bridgewater Police Department has a large box in the front entrance where people can drop off unwanted prescription drugs. The box is like a mailbox, so once an item goes in, it can’t be taken out. It is for unwanted prescription or over-the- counter drugs, pet medications or vitamins. No liquids allowed.

Coffee Bar Hours: The coffee bar is now open 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays. Coffee is available for a donation of $0.50.

TRANSPORTATION

Dial-a-Bat to Compass: Pickup at 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays; return 12:30 p.m.

Dial-a-Bat to Roche Bros. Way: Pickup at 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays; return 12:30 p.m.

Transportation to Market Basket: Every Tuesday and Wednesday. Space is limited. Call to reserve a seat.

Special Trip to Wal-Mart: Third Wednesday of the Month. This month: June 19.

Council on Aging Van is a free door-to-door service. Call the COA at 508-697-0929 to book rides in advance.

Dial-A-BAT is a door-to-door service for ages 65 and older or those who are disabled. Vehicles travel further out, to the Bridgewaters, Brockton, Abington, Avon, Easton, Stoughton and Whitman, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; there is limited service to some Boston medical facilities on Wednesdays. BAT rides must be booked through Dial-A-Bat at 508-584-5530. Cost is $3 each way within the same community, $4 each way from one Dial-A-Bat community to another and $7.50 each way or $15 round-trip to Boston. Those interested in using Dial-A-Bat services should call the Bridgewater Senior Center at 508-697-0929 to fill out a one-time validation form. To book a ride call Dial-A- Bat directly 24 hours in advance.

WEEKLY PROGRAMS

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class by Wendy Moore: 9-10 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. For information, call 774-222-5936.

Chair Yoga: 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays with Instructor Dr. Carl Swanson. Now funded through grants. To sign up, call 508-697-0929.

Line Dancing: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. With instructor Margaret Wilson. $5 per class. For information, call 508-857-6261.

ZUMBA with instructor Lori Hunter: 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $5 per class.

Knitting and Crocheting: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Fridays. Join the craft group and meet new friends. This will not be led by an instructor; seasoned knitters are here to help. Some beginner supplies are available.

Senior Painting: 9 a.m. Mondays.

Nurse’s Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Quilting and Sewing: 10:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. Wednesdays. Three sewing machines are provided by the center. Bring a basic sewing kit. Instructor provides simple sample patterns. Hand sewers welcome.

Cribbage Club: 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays. Each “ team” plays five games a week for a total of 40 weeks starting the Thursday after Labor Day through June of the next year. Interested new players should sign up by Aug. 8. There is a regular group of players and an alternate group who play in regular players’ absence.

Mah-Jongg: 10 a.m. Fridays. New players welcome.
