A Friday afternoon hearing regarding an Open Meeting Law complaint filed in Middlesex Superior Court against the Acton Board of Selectmen has been postponed, according to the plaintiff's attorney.

Boxborough attorney Steven Ballard is representing Acton residents in a civil complaint against the Acton Board of Selectmen after the Board in early May admitted to violating the open meeting law when some members admitted they discussed the possible appointment of Acton resident Danny Factor to the town's Planning Board prior to the meetings.

Ballard said in an email that he had been contacted by Town Counsel Thursday afternoon to request a postponement.

"And we have agreed to their request in order to engage in settlement discussions," stated Ballard's email.

Ballard said he had no further comment.

An email to the Acton town manager and Town Counsel were not immediately returned Friday afternoon.
