PROVINCETOWN — Helping Our Women will honor Paul Fanizzi with the 2019 Betty Villari Community Service Award at its 26th annual meeting on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held at Seamen’s Bank, 221 Commercial St., with a reception to follow. Fanizzi, owner of Fanizzi’s Restaurant by the Sea, is being recognized for his dedication, generosity and drive, as demonstrated by the award’s namesake, Betty Villari, according to announcement from HOW, a Provincetown based nonprofit. The Betty Villari Community Service Award was created in 2017 to recognize the service and commitment made by long-time volunteer, board member and HOW founder Betty Villari to Helping Our Women.

“Paul has been a long-time and generous supporter of Helping Our Women,” stated HOW Board Chair Marianne Clements. “For almost 20 years he has donated to many events that benefit HOW clients with transportation to medical appointments, monthly stipends and the advocacy of a client services manager, so it seems more than fitting that he should be this year’s recipient of this distinguished award.”

The public is invited to attend the HOW annual meeting. In addition to the award presentation, the meeting will include an update on HOW services and volunteer recognition. If interested in attending, please RSVP to info@helpingourwomen.org or call 508-487-4357.
