FALL RIVER — So, it’s nearly summer and you didn’t lose that stubborn 10 pounds or find your zen state of mind.
It happens. And, it’s fixable.
A free summer community fitness program is on the horizon, plus lots of free and low-cost yoga practices are setting up for the season.
SALT Fitness Company is offering a free nine-week Summer Workout Series of community fitness coaching and fitness classes. There is a $15 registration fee for the first 100 people who sign up, and then $20 thereafter.
The event kicks off Saturday, July 6, at 8:30 a.m. at the Southcoast Open Air Market (formerly the Somerset Open Air Market), in the field, corners of Riverside and Newhill avenues.
“The community gives so much to us,” said SALT co-owner Shaun Gadbois. “It’s nice to give back when you have the chance.”
Partners Shaun and Andre Gadbois opened SALT Fitness Co. at Commonwealth Landing, 1082 Davol St., after moving from their Swansea Mall location earlier this year.
This is the fitness company’s fifth annual community workout series.
The Gadbois’ said it’s a good time to offer the community program since the studio naturally slows in the summer months.
“It’s a chance to invite people in and see who we are,” Andre Gadbois said. “It’s a great opportunity for people to see we’re not a bougie upscale place where people don’t fit in.”
He said SALT is a comfortable space filled with “positive energy.”
SALT Fitness Company offers workout classes, personal training, and a healthy café.
Classes during the community fitness event include yoga, pound, boot camp, walking, and more.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to give back,” Shaun Gadbois said. “It’s an opportunity to say thank you.”
The series will run through Saturday, Sept. 7. Weekly weigh-ins will be held each Saturday at SALT from 8 to 11 a.m.
