The 18th annual RiverFest celebration will be held June 22 and 23 with more than 40 activities in nine communities.
Riverfest is the annual celebration of the federally-protected Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Wild and Scenic River. Designated by Congress in 1999, this year Riverfest celebrates 20 years of work to conserve and enjoy the rivers.
In the MetroWest area, events will be hosted on and along the rivers highlighting all the things that make these rivers special, including boat rides, bird watching, talks, art and kids activities.
The River Stewardship Council was created to promote the preservation of these river resources. The council is a partnership of representatives from each of the eight shoreline communities, state and federal agencies and two regional conservation organizations. All of the events and activities of Riverfest are volunteer-led by partner organizations of the RSC.
