Beverly Council on Aging seeking Senior of the Year nominations
Nominations for the annual Senior of the Year Award, given by the Beverly Council on Aging, are due by June 14 to the Senior Center, 90 Colon St., Beverly.
Criteria for consideration includes a Beverly resident, age 60 or older who demonstrates community spirit, leadership, and dedication in their ongoing volunteer involvement toward serving others in the Beverly community. The successful nominee is someone who embraces their age and contributes to their community in meaningful ways.
Those wishing to nominate an exemplary candidate may do so by completing the official application form. To request additional nomination forms, call the Center at 978-921-6017. The successful candidate will be announced and recognized at Senior Day in the Park scheduled for Aug. 8.
Care Dimensions to host Camp Stepping Stones
Care Dimensions will hold its 18th annual Camp Stepping Stones, a camp opportunity for children and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 13 at Glen Urquhart School, 74 Hart St., Beverly.
Lunch will be included.
Camp Stepping Stones is designed to give children enjoyable opportunities to help work through issues of grief and loss. With play and fun as its central components, Camp Stepping Stones campers can enjoy traditional camp experiences such as arts and crafts, outdoor games and sports along with special activities for commemorating their loved ones. There are also relaxing activities for parents and guardians including massage, Reiki and yoga, creative art activities and opportunities for families to come together.
Transportation will be available for registrants in the MetroWest area, south of Boston, and through a major MBTA station, so that Camp is accessible to registrants of every community in Greater Boston.
Open to any families coping with the death of a loved one, Camp Stepping Stones is free of charge following a non-refundable registration fee of $25 per family, which may be waived in cases of hardship. The registration deadline is July 1.

North Shore Community Mediation Center to host Basic Mediation Training
North Shore Community Mediation Center, a nonprofit organization providing mediation services and training to Essex County communities, courts, families, schools, and businesses, will hold a 36-hour Basic Mediation Training from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 19-20, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 22, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 24 and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 26 at Salem State University, 352 Lafayette St., Salem.

BHS Class of 1989 to host 30th reunion
Beverly High School Class of 1989 will host its 30th reunion from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Carriage House at Lynch Park, 55 Ober St., Beverly.

YMCA of the North Shore announces 2019 Road Race Series Title Sponsor
The YMCA of the North Shore announced Institution for Savings as its 2019 Road Race Series Title Sponsor.
The proceeds from the 2019 YMCA of the North Shore Road Race Series will support Corner Stone, a new Y collaborative program providing essential daily living support to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their immediate families.
The Road Race Series has been part of the North Shore for decades giving runners of all ages and abilities the opportunity to race for fun, personal bests and community.
