The Kingston Council on Aging is located at 30 Evergreen St. The Centers hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Kingston Council on Aging is open to people of all ages. Events are open to the community. The only requirement is to sign up in advance.
Transportation is available to all Kingston seniors free of charge. Transportation is used for going to the Center, grocery shopping and trips to the post office, library, special events and other programs. It is also used for local medical appointments between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily. A 48 hour notice is required for all rides.

A Community Outreach worker is now on staff. The Council on Aging welcomes Darlene Regan, who provides outreach, advocacy and support services to the seniors of Kingston. She also assesses individual needs and refers clients to appropriate resources; provides follow up services; performs outreach activities; and develops information and referral networks to share. Medicare annual open enrollment is Oct. 15-Dec. 7.
Medicare allows current beneficiaries to make changes. There are other enrollment periods but, the Medicare Annual Open Enrollment allows more options to current Medicare and Medicare Advantage Beneficiaries. What you can do:
Join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
Change from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan (HMO OR PPO)
Change from a Medicare Advantage Plan back to Original Medicare (Jan. 1–Feb. 14, 2019)
Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another Medicare Advantage Plan
Switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan that doesn’t offer drug coverage to a Medicare Advantage Plan that offers drug coverage
Switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan that offers drug- coverage to a Medicare Advantage Plan that does not offer drug coverage
Switch from one Medicare Prescription Drug Plan to another Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
Drop your Medicare prescription drug coverage completely (Not recommended, only if you have another credible plan to replace it).
Not everyone needs to make changes. Call the Kingston Council on Aging and make an appointment during the open enrollment period.
