A 62-year-old man is in stable condition after being struck by a car in the crosswalk at Ginn Field on Monday, Dec. 3, according to Winchester Police. The man, who was walking his dog, was struck by a 92-year-old woman, who was traveling on Bacon Street from Symmes Corner, and failed to stop at the crosswalk despite lights flashing, according to Lt. Dan O'Connell.

The pedestrian hit the windshield of the woman's car and was thrown about 25 feet into the opposite lane, according to O'Connell. He sustained some head injuries and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. The man's dog didn't sustain any injuries.

The 92-year-old woman was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and her license was suspended.

The accident is currently under investigation, according to police.

Randy Palmer, who lives in the neighborhood and walked down to the scene, noted that the accident happened just after dark.
