On behalf of the Sudbury July 4th Road Race committee, we would like to thank so many people who helped make the 55th annual a great success!
First, thank you to our dedicated long time sponsors. We couldn't have done it without their support. Middlesex Savings bank, Graphic Connections, Sudbury Farms, Bullfinchs, Conrad's Family Restaurant and Brine's Sporting Goods. Every year they are there for us and provide what we need to make the race run.
We want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who help set up the course, work registration, work the water tables on the course and take care of all the finish line food (there is a lot of fruit to cut and water to pour in cups). A big thank you to the LS boys cross country team who came out and helped with the kids race and other various jobs.
And a special shout-out to the Sudbury Police Department. They were out in force making sure everyone was safe on the course and making sure everyone was ok despite the heat. They were fantastic out there.
And last, thanks to all the runners who braved the heat to run. We love putting on this race every year. It is such a wonderful tradition.
We sadly lost one of our leaders, Bob Hall this past year. It was a bit hard for us but he was in our thoughts as well as all the folks who told us they came out despite the heat to run for him. I think he would have been proud of how things turned out - he set us up for success.
A big thanks to our other leader - Graham Taylor who has been guiding us for years and years. This race could not be possible without all of his efforts.
