Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams will bring their brand of Americana to the Payomet Performing Art Center on Saturday, June 22. The two have honed their chops playing with artists such as Levon Helm, Little Feat and Hit Tuna’s Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady.

On Sunday, June 16, the friends of P.J. O’Connell will be paying tribute to the well-loved Cape musician, who died unexpectedly in March, with “Patstock,” a four-hour musical fest at the Wellfleet Beachcomber. The show, which will run from 4 to 8 p.m., will also serve as a benefit for community radio station WOMR.
“We feel like he deserves it. A lot of people loved him. We just all miss him a lot,” says O’Connell’s longtime friend Chandler Travis, who organized the event.
In a statement announcing the show, Travis described O’Connell as “a fine singer, a terrific, incisive songwriter, and a lovely, caring, funny, generous man whose fine catalog of songs somehow never got the recognition it deserved.”
Travis has reunited The Incredible Casuals for the occasion.
Also joining in the festivities are: Sarah Swain & the Oh Boys, Ed O’Connell, Bruce Maclean, the Flakes, the Listeners, the Ticks, Klem Klimek, Jay Cournoyer, Wes Lachot and David Greenberger. Another Beachcomber show you might want to check out is Dalton and the Sheriffs who’ll be at the ‘Comba on Friday, June 21. The Boston-based band’s roots rock, country, Americana music mélange along with the gritty vocal power of its lead singer/guitarist Brian Scully makes for an explosive combination.

Wellfleet singer-songwriter and guitarist Stephen Russell will be at Wellfleet Preservation Hall Thursday, June 27, for an evening of new and old songs. Russell will be accompanied by accordionist and singer Tom Leidenfrost and by violist and multi-instrumentalist Eleanor Lincoln.
In addition, Russell’s son Peter Russell, is flying in from Portland, Oregon to take the lead on a few numbers. Some other special guests may be dropping by as well to share in this intimate evening of entertainment.

The George Gritzbach Band (Gritzbach on guitar, harmonica and vocals; Scott Lariviere on bass and vocals; Christian McCarthy on drums; Peter Murray on saxophone; John Menezes on keyboards) will be at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Saturday, June 15. Gritzbach, a long-time Cape favorite, is a blues road scholar who has shared the stage with notables such as Bonnie Raitt, Doctor John, Robert Cray and B.B. King. Showtime is 8 p.m. Admission is $20.
The following week, Saturday, June 22, the banjo/guitar duo Crowes Pasture, (Monique Byrne and Andy Rogovin), bring its original folk and sweet harmonies to the Cultural Center. Opening for Crowes Pasture will be Kim Moberg with Heather Swanson. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Admission is $20.
The great Irish singer/ songwriter/ storyteller/social activist Tommy Sands will perform at the cultural center at 3 p.m., Sunday June 23. Tickets are $25.
Hailed by Sing Out magazine as "the most powerful songwriter in Ireland, if not the rest of the world,” sand’s songs have been recorded and performed by Joan Baez, Kathy Matthea, Dolores Keane, Sean Keane, Frank Patterson, Dick Gaughan, and The Dubliners.
