Animal Control Officer Sue Webb says one of two lost pets has been reunited with its owner, but she's still looking for the owner of the other one.

Photos of these two lost pets appeared in this week’s Townsman. Both animals were older and very friendly with each other, other pets, and people.

Animal Control Officer Sue Webb was hoping to find their owners, or, failing that, new owners.

A reader spotted the photos and recognized the cat as belonging to her neighbor. The cat, which turns out to be 13 years old and a resident of Durant Road, has since been returned to its owner. But before it went home, it was microchipped.

The dog, found at Hunnewell School, has yet to be claimed. Anyone recognizing it or interested in giving it a new home may call Webb at 781-235-8460.

Incidentally, Webb warns that pets 10 years and older have more difficulty moving quickly and therefore are more likely to be attacked by coyotes and fishers. The safest place for them, Webb says, is right in their own home.
