 Map highlights historic places

The Billerica Historical Society remind everyone that the map, “Billerica's Historic Treasures: a Guide to America’s Yankee Doodle Town” is available free of charge to anyone interested in the history of Billerica. This glossy fold-out brochure includes photos, descriptions, dates and addresses for almost 100 of the most important historic sites in the town.

The accompanying map shows the location of each referenced property, and highlights those listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This publication includes the most significant landmarks, historic homes, schools, libraries, cemeteries and modes of transportation, as well as early business and industry in the town; some Native American Indian sites are included, as well. Most of the listings are from the 1630s through the 1870s. It is distributed free of charge to schools, libraries, residents, visitors, tourists, businesses, real estate agents, Chamber of Commerce, etc. The map is available at the Billerica Public Library, the Town Clerk’s office and through the society.
