Salem resident Marjorie Kaye, owner of Gallery 181, displayed her large, colorful and detailed mandala drawings at a recent art exhibition created by Lawrence’s Gallery 181 in collaboration with Washington Mills.


Kaye is the director of the gallery. The goal is to bring to bring artists' work into the public spaces of the complex. Washington Mills Building No. 1, a former textile mill built in 1886, is being redeveloped into 155 loft-style rental apartments with high ceilings and windows, and occupancy is expected this summer.
