The Arlington High gymnastics team beat Woburn last week in a tight battle.

The Spy Ponders finished with 124.95 points to Woburn’s total of 119.75.

Arlington’s best event was the vault as the girls combined to score 32.35 points.

Petra Ypsilantis led AHS and tied for first in the event with an 8.2, Karenna Ng finished with an 8.1, Jess Twohig totaled 8.05 and Katja Ampe also scored for Arlington with a total of 8.0.

On the floor exercise, Arlington had a 31.9.

Ampe was second overall with an 8.8, Ypsilantis scored a 7.9, Ng finished with a 7.7 and Bruna Mariani had a 7.5. Helen Bonardi just missed scoring for AHS with a 7.4.

On the balance beam, Arlington finished with a team score of 30.5.

Ypsilantis was second overall with an 8.0, Micaela Morse was fourth with a 7.6, Ampe finished with a 7.5 and Mariani had a 7.4.

On bars, the Spy Ponders outscored the Tanners by almost four full points, 30.2 to 26.4.

Ampe won the event with an 8.0, Twohig was third with a 7.7, Ng took fourth with a 7.4 and Ypsilantis was the other AHS scorer with a 7.1.
