Performance of the Year: Jack Johnson, Jr., Hingham

In a 39-22 win over Silver Lake on Sept. 29, there was no stopping Johnson. He threw for over 180 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for over 100 yards and two more scores. Johnson finished the day with five touchdowns and over 300 yards, numbers that would take most high school quarterbacks three weeks to compile.

Honorable mention: Robbie Gomes (Plymouth North) and Nick Lane (Pembroke)

In a 56-26 win over Quincy on Oct. 20, Gomes ran for 235 yards and a whopping five touchdowns. The win was the highlight of the year for the Blue Eagles and Gomes was routinely at the center of North’s offensive success.

In a nearly identical performance, Pembroke’s lane ran for 207 yards and five touchdowns in a 44-12 win over Nauset on Nov. 3. During the season, Lane ran for over 1,300 yards and 20 touchdowns. Lane surpassed the 200-yard mark three times this season.
