The Orleans Senior Center will host its annual holiday luncheon on Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.
The Nauset High School Chorus will perform and lunch will be served at noon.
The cost is $10 per person; tickets must be purchased in advance at the Senior Center. Luncheon menu includes a pork tenderloin dinner with a cheesecake dessert.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Friends of Snow Library will extend its book sale hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be the last All-Day sale of the year, and many items not previously displayed will be available for purchase.
The regular 10 a.m. to noon book sales will continue every Saturday morning. Sale items include hardcover books in a variety of categories, such as art, history, biographies, nature, maritime, cooking, mysteries, novels, sci-fi and fantasy, as well as pocket paperbacks (four for $1) and trade paperbacks ($2 each), plus audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, holiday books and music CDs and children’s books.
All proceeds from the sales benefit Snow Library.
The Orleans Democratic Town Committee invites all Democrats and friends to the Annual Holiday Chili Party, Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. (or whenever) at the home of Chairman Robin Hubbard.
Each attendee is requested to bring a canned good/paper product donation for the Lower Cape Outreach Council. Besides canned goods, spices, laundry and personal products are needed.

The Orleans Chamber of Commerce will host a Jingle Mingle networking event on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new offices of Del Mar Vacations, 24 S. Orleans Rd. This event is also hosted by Hub International.
Proceeds from a raffle will benefit Independence House in Hyannis. Additional tickets will be given for each donation to Independence House. Suggested items include diapers, baby food, food pantry, gift cards, toiletries, and unwrapped toys.
Chamber members and their guests are invited to attend this event. Reservations can be called in to the chamber office at 508-255-7203 or completed on-line through the Chamber Events calendar on the web site, orleanscapecod.org.
The reservation deadline for this event is Tuesday, Dec. 11.
There will be a celebration of Christmas in music on Friday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Federated Church of Orleans.
“I Wish You Christmas” will feature choral selections, piano and organ, handbells, and a holiday sing-a-long by the Not Your Average Community Chorus. There will also be special Celtic harp and flute pieces by Thom Dutton and Margaret Gerber.
The Nauset Ringer Handbells will perform, too .
Concert selections will be performed again at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 16, and for the Wingate Residences in Brewster on Monday Dec. 17. All are welcome.
