STACY'S STORY

Stacy, a Quincy mother of two teenage daughters, has limited income from a part-time child-care job and sporadic child support.

She was approved for a housing voucher through Quincy Community Action Programs earlier this year, but over the summer found few apartments within her voucher limit and many landlords unwilling to consider voucher applicants.

Stacy is working to improve her credit score because credit reports are often used to screen tenant applicants. She has improved her score by 80 points in the past five months.

She is also looking for another job to help meet expenses and save regularly. Her current income isn't enough to meet her needs, and a recent temporary job in Scituate ended in September.

WHAT STACY NEEDS

Stacy needs to find a new job that will pay enough to cover her family's expenses. To accomplish that, she needs reliable transportation, something she doesn't have right now because her car is in rough shape. Lend a Hand donations would help Stacy make car repairs giving her greater flexibility as she looks for an apartment and applies for jobs.
