The following members of the D-S cross country team took part in the Division 5 race at the Wrentham Developmental Center on Nov. 10 -- Kaitlyn Anderson, Virginia Borths, Caitlin Britt, Kate Chase, Delaney Clarke, Sophie Fallon, Calli Frankel, Charlotte Kinchla, Edie Rosbottom, Irene Yang, Danny Bennett, Martin Bleakley, Jacob Brown, Will Brown, John Fattore, Oliver Fried, Noah Gurani, Toby Sagar, Scott Sirri, Oren Wiemeyer.

At the Division 5 meets in Wrentham on Nov. 10, Oliver Fried led the way for the Raiders with a third-place finish. Scott Sirri (17th) and Noah Gurani (19th) also made the top 20. Overall, the boys finished fourth.

The Raiders girls also finished fourth overall, paced by Caitlin Britt's fourth-place finish. Charlotte Kinchla came in 24th.

Both teams qualified for All-States.

Highlights: On Sept. 13, D-S opened the season with a split against Bellingham. The boys lost to the Blackhawks, 27-29, despite a first-place finish by Oliver Fried. The girls fared better, with a 15-50 win.Charlotte Kinchla finished in first place with a time of 22:05 for the Raiders, who took the first seven spots.

On Sept. 20, D-S swept Medway. In the boys' 20-43 win, Will Brown came in second overall with a time of (15:09). Brown was followed by Noah Guarini (3rd, 15:14), Scott Siri (4th, 15:19), Jacob Brown (5th, 15:33) and Oren Weimeyer (6th, 15:35). The D-S girls won, 16-39.

On Sept. 26, D-S swept Norton. In the boys' 19-44 win, junior Oliver Fried finished in first place with a time of 15:01. Junior Will Brown (third place), junior Oren Wiemeyer (fourth), senior Scott Sirri (fifth), senior John Fattore- (sixth), sophomore Noah Guarini (seventh) and junior Jacob Brown finished in eighth place as the Raiders had seven of the top-8 finishes. In the girls' 21-36 win, Caitlin Britt finished second in a time of 18:37 for Dover-Sherborn. Charlotte Kinchla (18:37) came in third and Virginia Borths (19:10) finished fourth for the Raiders.

On Oct. 3, D-S swept Millis. In the boys' 19-44 win, junior Oliver Fried finished first overall with a time of 17:26. Senior Scott Sirri and sophomore Noah Guarino tied for third with a time of 17:30, and senior Danny Bennett finished fifth overall with a time of 17:39 to round out the top five.

“The boys ran a smart race and continue to improve each week,” Dover-Sherborn coach Stephen Harte.

The girls won, 20-41.

On Oct. 10, D-S closed out its regular season with a sweep over Dedham. In the boys' 15-50 win, Oliver Fried set a new course record. The girls completed an undefeated season with an 18-45 win.

On Oct. 20, D-S finished first overall at the Twilight Invitational. The girls team came in fourth, while the boys came in second; Oliver Fried finished first overall.

On Oct. 24, at the Tri-Valley League championships in Medfield, the D-S girls came in third overall. Caitlin Britt came in seventh to lead the Raiders. The D-S boys came in first overall behind a first-place finish by Oliver Fried (16:44). Sophomore Noah Guarini (17:28) placed seventh and junior Will Brown (17:29) was eighth. Senior Scott Sirri (17:43) finished 10th.

Field Hockey

Dover-Sherborn has drawn the 15th seed in the MIAA Division 2 South Sectionals. They defeated#18 Plymouth South, 3-1, in the preliminary round of the MIAA tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

On Nov. 1, D-S lost to #2 Dennis-Yarmouth, 2-0, in the first round.

Against Plymouth South, the Raiders scored three second-half goals for the win. Emma Goodness, Payton Ahola and Haley Gladstone accounted for the Raider goals.

On Sept. 21, D-S fell to Holliston 2-1. Merritt Sullivan scored Dover-Sherborn’s lone goal. On Sept. 24, D-S moved back over the .500 mark with a 3-1 win over Medfield.

On Sept. 26, D-S edged Westwood, 2-1. Haley Gladstone scored the game-winner early in the second half. On Sept. 28, D-S shut out Dedham, 2-0. Junior Abby Gramer scored a goal. Senior Haley Gladstone added a goal for the Raiders with an assist by sophomore Katie O’Connell. Sophomore goalie Sabrina Ryan stopped five shots in the first half and junior Claire Gordon made two saves in the second half to secure the win.

On Oct. 1, D-S began the month with a 6-0 shutout over Newton North. Junior Payton Ahola had three goals and an assist. Sophomore Emma Goodness added three assists for the Raiders. Junior Abbey Gramer, sophomore Emily Caffrey and senior Maeve Keene all scored one goal apiece. Sophomore Sabrina Ryan played the first half and junior Claire Gordon played the second half in a combined shut out for the Raiders.

On Oct. 3, D-S and Norwood played to a 2-2 tie. Kendall Robbins and Emily Caffrey accounted for the Raiders' goals. On Oct. 4, D-S blanked Bellingham, 4-0. Payton Ahola led the way for Dover-Sherborn with one goal and two assists while Emily Caffrey, Katie O’Connell and Emma Goodness each scored one goal for the Raiders. Goalie Sabrina Ryan had four saves while Sarah Lamson controlled the backfield on defense.

On Oct. 9, Medway edged D-S, 2-1. Emma Goodness scored the lone D-S goal.

On Oct. 12, which was Senior Night for the Raiders, D-S beat Medfield, 3-1. Haley Gladstone scored twice. On Oct. 16, Framingham edged D-S, 2-1, in a nonleague game.

On Oct. 18, D-S qualified for the postseason tournament with a 4-0 win over Hopkinton. Haley Gladstone scored two goals to lead Dover-Sherborn. Kendall Robbins and Abby Gramer each added a goal and an assist for the Raiders. Goalie Sabrina Ryan made three saves to preserve the shutout.

On Oct. 22, Westwood edged D-S, 2-1. On Oct. 25, D-S shut out Dedham, 3-0. Kendall Robbins scored twice for the Raiders. On Oct. 26, Weston beat D-S, 3-1.

Football

Highlights: Kirby Ryan threw for 48 yards and had a rushing touchdown as Dover-Sherborn defeated Weston, 28-12, in a season-opening contest on Sept. 7. Tylan Mendes had 85 yards on 16 carries, and Matt Paolatto had an interception return of 26 yards.

“One I thing I like is that we bounced back,” D-S coach Steve Ryan said. “We went down 6-0 early, but came back with 28 in a row. We talked about not flinching when we get hit, and I’m happy with how the kids bounced back.”

On Friday, Sept. 14, Nipmuc rolled past D-S, 21-2.

On Friday, Sept. 21, D-S outlasted Norton, 9-7. Junior quarterback Kirby Ryan found senior wide receiver Matt Paolatto for a 42-yard passing score in the third quarter.

“The thing about that play, we had called a running play on that, and [we’ve given] Kirby the right to change the play if he sees something,” D-S coach Steve Ryan said. “He changed it to a hitch-and-go with Paolatto and he was wide open and hit him for a touchdown.”

Senior captain Tylan Mendes racked up 122 yards on 12 carries, while sophomore Drew Dummer kicked a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter.

On Sept. 28, D-S used two fourth-quarter touchdowns from Luke Fielding to propel the Raiders to a 14-13 victory over Millis. On Oct. 5, D-S fell to Medway, 35-14. Matt Paolatto and Luke Fielding accounted for the Raider touchdowns.

On Oct. 12, D-S defeated Bellingham, 28-20. Running back Tylan Mendez scored two touchdowns, including the final score, to help Raiders survive a late comeback bid. Junior quarterback Kirby Ryan threw two touchdown passes, both to Luke Fielding, including a 25-yard pass to give D-S a 21-6 lead at the time.

Matt Palatto also had an interception for D-S.

On Oct. 19, Dedham rolled past D-S, 24-10. Matt Paolatto scored the Raiders' lone touchdown on a pass from Kirby Ryan.

On Oct. 26, in the first round of the MIAA playoffs, Ashland cruised to a 35-7 win over D-S. Quarterback Kirby Ryan threw a touchdown pass for D-S.

On Nov. 24, D-S recorded a 24-0 victory over St. John Paul II in the MIAA non-playoff tournament. Senior wide receiver Matt Paolatto caught five passes for 55 yards and one touchdown, rushed for another score, and caught an interception. Junior quarterback Kirby Ryan went 12-for-18 for 128 yards, and Tylan Mendes rushed nine times for 83 yards for the Raiders while teammate junior Luke Fielding recovered a fumble and ran it back 30 yards for a touchdown.

On Nov. 9, on a very wet Senior Night, D-S rolled past Mashpee, 27-6.  Senior Tylan Mendes scored four touchdowns to lead Dover-Sherborn to a win over nonleague opponent Mashpee.

“I thought that was our best game of the year,” D-S coach Steve Ryan said. “It was nice to see us put it all together and get moving in the same direction this time of the year.”

Matty Paolatto started the game with a 60-yard kickoff return for the Warriors, while Mendes tallied three scores in the first half to give the Warriors a 19-6 halftime lead.

Mendes scored his fourth touchdown with 7:08 left in the game to secure the victory.

Golf

On Oct. 22, D-S won the Division 3 South Sectional title. Billy Rooney took medalist honors with a 79, followed by Alex Baroody with an 81, Brady Tsourides with a 82, Spencer Rauch with an 83, Cooper Evans with an 84, and Parker Walsh with a 94.

At the Division 3 State Championship on Oct. 29 at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown, D-S finished second, one stroke behind St. Mary's of Lynn. Brady Tsourides led the way with 77, followed by Billy Rooney with 81, Alex Baroody with 83, Cooper Evans with 83, Spencer Rauch with 89 and Parker Walsh with 99.

On Sept. 11, D-S defeated Natick, 209-229. Cooper Evans shot an even-par 32, while Billy Rooney shot a 1-over par 33 to lead Dover-Sherborn. Parker Walsh shot a 35, both Alex Baroody and Spencer Rauch shot a 36 and Brady Tsourides shot a 37 for the Raiders.

On Sept. 14, D-S edged Norwood, 239-250. Brady Tsourides shot a 36 to win match medalist and lead Dover-Sherborn. Cooper Evans shot a 37 and Alex Baroody shot a 38 for the Raiders.

On Sept. 20, D-S remained undefeated with a 236-250 win over Holliston. Alex Baroody and Patrick Wright both shot a 37 for D-S. Spencer Rauch carded a 39 for D-S, followed by Billy Rooney (40), Cooper Evans (41) and Parker Walsh (42).

On Sept. 24, D-S remained undefeated with a 254-287 win over Medway. Both Henry Kenney and Billy Rooney carded 40s to take match medalist honors for Dover-Sherborn. On Sept. 26, D-S defeated Ashland, 226-275. Senior Pat Wright and junior Cooper Evans were both medalists shooting 4-over 37s.

On Sept. 27, D-S stayed undefeated with a 215-257 win over Dedham. Senior captain Bray Tsourides shot a 34 at par 35 Sassamon Trace Golf Course. Sophomore Billy Rooney shot a 35.

On Oct. 1, D-S swept a tri-match with Westwood (216-226) and Millis (218-290). Cooper Evans led the way for the Raiders with a 34, while Spencer Rauch shot a 35 for the Raiders.

“Great team win for D-S,” said Dover-Sherborn coach Jon Kirby.

On Oct. 2, D-S went to 10-0 with a 228-270 win over Millis. Senior captain Brady Tsourides shot a 36 for Dover-Sherborn. Senior Spencer Rauch shot a 37 and sophomore Billy Rooney also carded a 37 for the Blue Raiders.

On Oct. 3, Hopkinton handed D-S its first loss of the season, 228-245. Brady Tsourides carded a 36 and Alex Baroody shot a 38 for the Raiders. On Oct. 4, despite Billy Rooney and Cooper Evans each shooting a 39, D-S lost to Norton, 253-255.

On Oct. 9, D-S swept Medway and Bellingham. On Oct. 10, D-S beat Bellingham, 233-272. Junior Cooper Evans shot an even-par 36 and sophomore Billy Rooney added a 37 to put the Raiders on top in a Tri-Valley League match. Alex Baroody and Brady Tsourides both shot 39, Spencer Rauch had a 40 and Patrick Wright shot 42.

On Oct. 15, D-S wrapped up the regular season and the TVL title, with a pair of wins -- 220-248 over Medfield, and 220-222 win over Norton.

Boys Soccer

Junior Adam Fam recorded three points with a pair of goals and an assist. Elliot Hammerness also had a solid game in the victory.

“We played a complete all-around team game,” said D-S head coach Joe Gruseck.

On Sept. 14, D-S blanked Norwood, 3-0. On Sept. 17, D-S and Natick played to a 1-1 tie.

On Sept. 21, Holliston knocked off D-S, 2-0. On Sept., 27, D-S and Medway played to a scoreless tie. On Oct. 2, D-S edged Bishop Feehan, 2-1, in a nonleague match. On Oct. 4, D-S topped Ashland, 2-1.

On Oct. 9, D-S and Holliston played to a 1-1 tie. On Oct. 10, D-S edged Dedham, 2-0. On Oct. 12, D-S lost to Westwood, 3-0. On Oct. 15, D-S blanked Millis, 4-0.

On Oct. 17, D-S and Hopkinton played to a 0-0 deadlock. Freshman Ryan Collins and junior Saul Brame played well for D-S.

On Oct. 19, D-S and Norton played to a 0-0 score. On Oct. 24, Medway nipped the Raiders, 1-0. On Oct. 25, D-S blanked Bellingham, 4-0. Jamie Hackney and Brooks Walsh scored one goal each for D-S.

On Oct. 29, which was Senior Night, Medfield beat D-S, 3-0.

Girls Soccer

They defeated #3 Tri-County, 5-0, in the first round on Nov. 3 at Bellingham High School. Caroline Gray and Olivia Smith scored twice for the Raiders who led, 4-0, at the half. Ava Kaplan accounted for the other goal.

D-S defeated #6 East Bridgewater, 3-0, on Nov. 5 in the quarterfinals. Cerys Balmer, Riona Crowley and Hope Shue scored for the Raiders.

D-S fell to #10 Hanover, 3-1, in the semifinals at Norwell High School. Caroline Gray accounted for the Raiders' lone score.

On Sept. 21, D-S edged Norton, 3-2. Sophomore Ava Kaplan had a goal and an assist for the Raiders. On Sept. 27, Medway beat D-S, 3-1.

On Oct. 1, D-S and Wellesley played to a 1-1 tie. Junior Alexis Rapo tied it up for D-S in the 55th minute. On Oct. 2, D-S rolled past Bellingham, 15-2. On Oct. 4, D-S edged Ashland, 2-1.

On Oct. 9, D-S fell to Holliston, 2-0. On Oct. 10, D-S blanked Dedham, 3-0. Ava Kaplan, Hope Shue and Cerys Balmer accounted for the Raiders' goals. On Oct. 12, D-S fell to Westwood, 1-0. On Oct. 15, D-S lost to Millis, 2-0.

On Oct. 17, Hopkinton shut out D-S, 2-0. On Oct. 19, D-S edged closer to postseason contention with a 4-0 win over Norton. Olivia Smith, Riona Crowley, Caroline Gray and Hope Shue accounted for the Raiders' goals. On Oct. 23, Medway topped D-S, 3-1. Riona Crowley scored the Raiders' lone goal. On Oct. 26, Norwell edged D-S, 3-2. Riona Crowley and Ava Kaplan scored for the Raiders.

On Oct. 29, D-S came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Medfield, 3-2, and qualify for the postseason.
