The streets of Downtown Hingham will be alive with the sounds of music, the beauty of local art, and the tastes of local food on Sunday, Oct. 14. Our downtown is growing ever more vibrant. Come experience it at the 13th annual Hingham Arts Walk from 12-4 p.m. Grab some friends and go for a stroll. There will be more than 70 artists presenting their work on the sidewalks, in the shops and in studios. The art will range from fine art photography to jewelry and mixed media, to youth art, pottery and woodwork. It will truly have something for everyone.

If you enjoy live music, we've got it covered. ‘Not Today’, an alternative youth rock band from South Shore Conservatory, will play from 12-2. ‘Wheelhouse Rodeo’, a traditional blue-grass band will play from 2-4 p.m.

If you are bringing the kids they will enjoy the Children's Craft Market of Hingham. They will be selling hand-made crafts and playing music. Located on the tunnel cap by Winston Flowers, this is a wonderful community event that supports children as creators and entrepreneurs. Bring small change and come for 15 minutes or stay awhile to hear the young musicians who will be performing during the market.

Follow the balloons! Balloons will be posted at all participating stores. Balloons will also line the flag poles in celebration of the arts walk from South Street Gallery through the square down to the harbor on Water Street (White Magdalena) to the lower section of North Street (Assembly, Sara Campbell and William Raveis).

Matt Gallagher owner of Assembly Showroom on North Street is looking forward to the event, "We want the shop to be part of the Art Walk so people can enjoy design and craftsmanship, whether it be our current product range or the art that gives our space character or the custom furniture framing the space. We are excited to be part of the Art Walk because it fits in perfectly with the vision for our shop."

The Hingham Arts Walk is organized and funded by the Downtown Association with support from the Hingham Cultural Council This is just one of the events organized by the Hingham Downtown Association, Taste of Hingham and Christmas in the Square are other long-loved Hingham traditions.
