The Evening Garden Club of Plymouth will host a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at a new location, the Plymouth Center for Active Living, 44 Nook Road. Parking is free. The program for the evening is “Some Like It Hot,” presented by Andi Ross. Ross is an educator, speaker and workshop leader from the North Shore. Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, at 123 South St., invites senior citizens in the Plymouth area to an appreciation barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, 24 Long Pond Road, will host a blood and food pantry drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19-20 aboard the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women's Hospital Blood Mobile at the Administration Building. Donors will receive a Kraft Family Blood Center Lantern. All those who donate to the Food Pantry will be entered into a drawing. A photo ID is required and blood donors should be well hydrated and eat before donating. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be taken as time allows. Knights of Columbus Plymouth Council No. 1190 will host Bingo Knight, a fundraiser for local charities, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Sept. 19 at the American Legion Post 40, 199 Federal Furnace Road. Tickets include admission, 15 game cards/sheets and dauber. There will be nine regular games and six special games. Extra cards can be purchased at the Post’s Hall. Individuals must be older than 18 to participate. Snacks will be available and prizes will be awarded. A 50/50 Raffle will also be held. There is a maximum seating limit of 120 people.
