The Thoreau birthplace, located at 341 Virginia Road, Concord, will open for the season May 5.
Springtime brings visitors to Concord, and the birthplace of its native son, Henry David Thoreau, is among a dozen or more destinations for people who want to experience local history.
Saturday and Sunday visits to the house are by guided tour only. Tours are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Those who want to walk the grounds are welcome and do not need to take a tour. Visitors planning a weekday trip may also arrange a tour by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or 978-451-0300. Weekend tours will be free in 2018, and reservations are not required.
