The Philharmonic Society of Arlington will present its Sponsors’ Concert with the Arlington-Belmont Chorale and Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra at 3:30 p.m. April 29 at First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, 630 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington.
The Philharmonic Society of Arlington is a 150-member organization of vocalists and instrumentalists from Arlington, Belmont and several other MetroWest towns. This year marks the PSA’s 84/85th season performing classical music and programs of popular music at its annual Pops Concert and Strawberry Festival each June.
This concert’s program will feature exciting repertoire including the rejected movement of Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 1,” “Requiem” by Gabriel Faure, Mabel Daniels’ “Exultate Deo,” Gustav Holst’s “I Love My Love,” and the “Festive Overture Op. 96” by Dmitri Shostakovich.
A reception will be held following the concert to recognize and honor the sponsors who support the Philharmonic Society of Arlington’s musical activities.
Tickets are purchased at the door. Admission is $15, $10 for seniors and students, and $5 for children 12 years and under.
