PLYMOUTH – A local man died Tuesday while cleaning snow from his driveway in West Plymouth.

Police said the 80-year-old man was operating a snowblower outside his home on Coachmen Terrace in Pinehurst Village when he collapsed in his driveway. A neighbor spotted him just before 3 p.m. and called for help.

Efforts to revive the man at the scene were not successful. He was taken to BID-Plymouth hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Capt. John Rogers said the man had a history of medical problems, including a heart condition. Rogers said the man had already cleared snow from his driveway once Tuesday morning and had gone back out to clear snow about 45 minutes before the neighbor found him on the ground.
