Friday, Feb. 23: Stuffed shells or grilled chicken sandwich with minstrone soup
Beginner bridge: Thursdays for six weeks beginning Feb. 8. Cost will be $30, and students must purchase a book for $12.
Bridge: 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Bridge players who have taken Basic Bridge with Marilyn are welcome.
Backgammon: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays.
Blood pressure: 10:30-11:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. A registered nurse will take your blood pressure.
Chair yoga: will resume in the spring.
Chess Club: 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursdays. This group is seeking new participants.
Cribbage: 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays. All are welcome.
Do-Yin Healing Massage Class: 1 p.m. Tuesdays. Do-Yin is a combination of meridian stretching exercises, breathing exercises and self-massage. It is intended to prevent and treat dysfunctions of the body related to low circulation of energy, or “vital energy.”
Foot doctor: The senior center has a foot doctor come in for visits every other month. Call for an appointment.
Knitting: 12:30-3 p.m. Wednesdays. All skill levels are welcome.
Poker: 12:30-4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The group is always looking for more players. New players should try the Wednesday group.
Mah Jongg Cards: Cost is $8 for regular, $9 for print. Bring cash only in an envelope with your name, address and phone number to the front desk.
Mah Jongg Lessons: 9-11 a.m. Mondays. The class is $25, and a card is $8. Sign up at the front desk.
Movie Matinees: 10 a.m. Fridays. Movies will be announced during the week and are open to requests.
Poker: 12:30-4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. New players should try the Wednesday group.
Qigong: 1 p.m. Tuesdays.
Rummy Cube: 10 a.m. Tuesdays. This group is looking for new members. Seniors are invited to learn to play this card game with tiles.
Senior Fitness Class: 8:45 a.m. Thursdays. This is an overall fitness class and a wonderful way to build muscle and get moving. Call to sign up.
Stretch and tone: 9 a.m. Tuesdays.
Tai Chi Chuan: 2 p.m. Tuesdays. This class is a multi-level basic program constructed to guide you through all aspects of traditional Tai Chi Chuan, including balance, posture and body control. It is led by certified instructor Nicanor Snow.
Walking group: 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays. The group walks around the entire building. Four laps is a mile. Hand weights are also offered. Call before you come on rainy days.
Walking at the high school: Designated times will be available soon for residents to walk the track inside at the high school. More to follow.
Zumba AND TONE: 9:45 a.m. Fridays. Cost is $7. Dance for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of toning with hand weights.
YMCA Partnership: Interested in learning to play Pickle Ball or Water Aerobics? Let the front desk know. Details to follow.
Looking for Mah Jongg Cards?: $8 for regular, $9 for large print. Bring cash only in an envelope with your name, address and phone number on it to the front desk.
Tech Ninjas: Having difficulty with your smart phone or any other device? Make an appointment with a student from Swampscott High School (Tech Ninjas) and they will give you one-on-one support. Call for an appointment.
Check out a laptop: While spending time at the Senior Center, feel free to check out a Chromebook laptop to browse the Internet, email a friend or anything else. Check one out at the front desk.
Donate Hearing Equipment: Please donate any gently used hearing aids and accessories to the North Shore Hearing Foundation. We have a box by our bookcases where you can donate.

Tissues: As cold season is fast approaching, we are in need of tissue box donations. We greatly appreciate it!
Parking: Please drive carefully and only park in the yellow lined spaces marked “SC.” These are for the Senior Center. Other spaces around the school belong to the students; they pay for them, and we cannot park there.

Fire evacuation procedures: For your safety, it is important that you take the time to read and understand the fire drill procedures, which are located on the walls in the lobby, lunch room, sitting room and activities room.
Safe driving tip: Do you have a handicapped placard? It is recommended by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation that the Handicapped Placard not be visible while you are driving. It is for the safety of everyone on the road and will ensure optimal visibility for the driver.
Bus service: The bus service picks seniors up at their homes and safely transports them to the center for a small fee. It offers shopping trips to Market Basket on Mondays and Thursdays, Stop & Shop on Tuesdays and shops in Vinnin Square on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
