Second overdose in as many days leads to Christmas Eve death

Police responded to a call on Arnold Road at 7:41 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23 reporting an overdose, Shaw said. Responders administered NARCAN to resuscitate the individual and transferred him to South Shore Hospital, where he was released the next day.

At 9:30 p.m. the day he was released, December 24, officers again responded to the home on Arnold Road for an overdose by the same individual. Officers again administered NARCAN and transported him to the hospital, where he died.

Homeless man arrested for drug possession

Police arrested Ryan Hennigan, 27, a homeless man Shaw described as “fairly well known” to the department, for an outstanding warrant for Breaking and Entering and Possession of a Class B Drug.

After spotting Hennigan on Plain Street at 9:47 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, police placed him under arrest for the outstanding warrant when they found Adderall pills on his person, Shaw said. Hennigan was transferred to the Plymouth House of Corrections at 3 a.m.

Ammunition, drugs found in unregistered, uninsured car

Marshfield police pulled over Jason Casely, 40, of 45 Leverett St. for a marked lane violation at 6:28 p.m. on January 1. After pulling him over, officers noticed the vehicle was unregistered, Shaw said.

While speaking with Casely, officers located a prescription bottle of alprazolam (Xanax) without a name on it and ammunition in the center console. Casely told police he had recently moved from out of state and hadn’t transferred his vehicle’s registration. His vehicle was also uninsured, and Casely told officers he did not have a license for a firearm.

Casely was arrested for Class C Drug Possession, Marked Lanes Violation, having an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and possession of ammunition. He was released on $40 bail at 10:30 p.m.
