Erratic driving leads to second OUI
Marshfield police received a call on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 1:12 p.m. reporting a gray BMW driving erratically on Ocean Street before pulling into a business’ parking lot, Lieutenant Arthur Shaw said. Officers located the driver, Paul Jones, 30, of 25 Fifth Rd. behind the wheel of his still-running car in the parking lot.
Officers determined he was impaired and he was arrested for Operating Under the Influence, his second such offense, after being previously charged with an OUI in 2014. Jones was released on $40 bail.
Second OUI charge for 28 year old Marshfield man after collision
Police responded to a head-on collision on Ocean Street later that day, Shaw said. Mark Routhier, 28, of 29 Fifth Rd. was arrested for OUI Liquor second offense, marked lane violation and possession of an open container of alcohol in his vehicle after crossing to the wrong side of the road and hitting another vehicle.
When officers arrived, Routhier showed signs of impairment and had an open pint bottle of vodka in the car. He was released on $40 bail later that evening.
Hingham man charged with OUI
Michael Spinola, 25, of 32 Rhodes Circle in Hingham crossed to the wrong side of Union Street and struck a telephone pole a little after midnight on Friday, Dec. 22. Shaw said Spinola showed signs of impairment and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Officers found an open nip bottle of Mr. McGillicuddy’s liqueur and an open 750 mL bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila in Spinola’s vehicle. He was transported to South Shore Hospital and charged with OUI liquor, possession of an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and a marked lines violation.
