HOLIDAY Music Revue: 7 p.m. Dec. 14. $25 general admission, $35 table seats. Join Stage 284 in celebration of the holiday season. Proceeds help offset costs for the 2018 season, including scholarships, lights, sets and costumes. Featuring appetizers, cash bar, wine pull and Fund-a-Need opportunities.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: 7:30-10 a.m. Dec. 9; 10-11 a.m. for sensory-friendly by reservation. $12 general admission, free for ages 2 and younger. Advance registration and seating required. The magic of Santa has been experienced by generations of children and their families at our annual pancake breakfast. Santa’s helpers capture the special moment of your child with Santa in a photograph. A cookie decorating activity for the children is sponsored by the Romano family of Wenham. Each child receives a small gift from Santa. The Community House is now offering Sensory Friendly events. These events provide an opportunity for individuals with special needs to access our traditional programs. Sensory events consist of reduced audience size, quieter atmosphere and accepting environment.

Youth Company presents “Beauty and the Beast Jr.”: 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20, 2 p.m. Jan. 21, 3 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and 2 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28. Directed by Katie Clarke, with music direction by Kathleen Castellanos and choreography by Sarah Bergeron.


Special Friends: Dec. 15. Rotary Breakfast. The Community House has been serving the interests of our Special Friends, individuals with special needs, for over 30 years via regular socials.

Youth programs

Middle School Program: Dec. 8.

Stage 284 Afterschool Workshop: 1-5 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 31 through March 14. Cost is $230 for six weeks. Pickup at Winthrop Elementary School at 12:45 p.m. available. For grades one through five. Session III: “Frozen.” This program will explore performance through exciting themes that will get your kids up and exercising their imaginations. Through Creative movement, writing, theatre games, props, set and costume character development and analysis, we will explore the art of drama from the ground up. This hands-on session will culminate in a short performance for family and friends created by your children.

MOVE and GROOVE with Ms. Deej: 10-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Facilitated by Donna Viau of Hamilton-Wenham School of Dance.

“The Music Man”: 10-10:45 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays (no Monday holiday performances). Sing and dance with the Community House’s very own “The Music Man.” A biweekly family concert, featuring familiar and original tunes, performed by local dad and musician Brian Doser. Cost: $5 per family.

Princess birthday party: A two-hour birthday party with a favorite princess: Elsa, Anna, Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel or Merida. The princess will sing, perform, provide face painting and pose for photographs. Talent provided by Stage 284. Cost is $300 and includes one-hour setup and half-hour cleanup.
