The Chelmsford Art Society will meet for a demonstration by Priti Lathia on alcohol ink painting at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts, 1A North Road, Chelmsford.
As a professional artist and teacher, Lathia likes to try new techniques and materials. The artist loves to paint nature as well as be inspired by the places she has visited or still life subjects that have inspired her.
Lathia took some art lessons as a youngster but never thought of it as a career. Her turning point was taking some art classes at Middlesex Community College. Her teacher asked her to teach a class after looking at a couple of her assignments. Since then, she could see a future in art and gained confidence that she was an original and real artist.
After seeing Lathia’s work in some local art show, for the last several years, many parents brought their children to her for art lessons. She teaches art to a large number of children three days a week, from September to June, at St. Mark’s Church in Westford. She also teaches art at her home twice every week and offers private lessons.
The meeting is free and open to the public. For Information: 978-251-3971; http://chelmsfordartsociety.com.
