Applications for 2017-2018 community projects funded by the Westford Cultural Council are now available online.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 16. There is an optional presentation meeting for grant applicants to further present their programs to the council committees from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Westford Library, 50 Main St, Westford. These grants can be used support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Westford, including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, or performances in schools, workshops and lectures. Grants are reimbursement based meaning the applicant expends their money and if approved for a grant, submits paperwork for reimbursement.
The Westford Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 local cultural councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
